Place: We will be respecting the current covid-19 rules. It seems like we can likely have an in-person meeting this year. Meeting is tentatively planned for IKEA restaurant at this point. (2685 Iris St, Ottawa).

Open to everyone. Please join us if you are interested in seeing what we do. All positions are open to anyone to apply. We would very much welcome some new folks in any capacity as we have some folks interested in leaving their current positions.
We are so grateful for the talented Jiddu Rivadeneira for designing a beautiful logo for us that definitely oozes the Finnish spirit. He hails originally from Ecuador but you would think that he might have some Finnish blood in him, when you look at the logo. He really captured something quintessentially Finnish in it.

CFF- Canadian Friends of Finland has extended an invitation to OSKU friends to their Christmas party. See below for details: 2019 Joulujuhla This year we are hanging out at one of our favorite restaurants for our holiday festivities. We have arranged a 3-course prix fixe meal at the special price of $42 (excluding tax and tips)! We booked Das Lokal last year for Christmas and many said it was the best Joulujuhla ever! Thought we would try this again. If we get enough people to come, we can have the restaurant to ourselves! You do not have to pay in advance (the restaurant will issue your bill), but you must register with us by November 30th if you plan on joining us. The restaurant needs to know how many places to reserve and if the restaurant is closed to other reservations. Also, there is limited seating. Register early so that you are not disappointed! The menu will include:

A vegetarian option is available if registrants request it (please let us know when registering). Drinks other than coffee are at additional cost. Jotkut teistä ovat kysyneet, joten tässä on ideoita mitä tarvitaan jouluaterian toteuttamiseksi. Yksi ateria/ annos vastaa alennusta yhdelle ihmiselle juhlista. Sisäänpääsy on siis $30 ja jos tuot yhden alla olevista tuotteista maksu on $15. Muistathan silti koordinoida mitä tuot Iran kanssa että tiedämme mitä on tulossa ja mitä vielä uupuu listalta.

Please note that you can pay the OSKU – Finnish School of Ottawa annual membership at the party as well. It is $25 per family for the school year or $40 per family for two years.

Our wonderful students and parents are educated and smart; we are all committed to reducing the amount of trash we generate.
The Finnish School waste-free snack program favors the use of reusable food containers and reducing waste where possible. Here are some guiding principles that will help you as you and your child prepare for your turn providing the OSKU snack:
Although we will not be able to eliminate waste completely, it is easy to reduce it!

🇫🇮 Another OSKU school year is fast approaching. OSKU registration starts at Hopewell Avenue P.S. on September 7th at 9:30am.
Please don’t forget to bring all required documents for the registration: passport for your child’s proof of age, day school’s spring or last report card and the $10.00 registration fee, for the OCDSB school board, $180/per out-of-province student.
OSKU will provide a snack on the first day of school the 14th of September.
The snack-turn-schedule will be distributed later.
